“Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves. John Muir, Our Nations Parks, 1901

Members of the Friends of Mary's Peak are concerned with the long-term and short-term planning and management of the Peak.  We meet four times a year for membership and board meetings and more often for committee and event work.  Our meetings are held in late January, April, July and October.  The July meeting is held on Mary's Peak as a camp out.  We also will try to meet in August during the annual meteorite shower and for other planned events offered through other organizations.

We plan to publish a member newsletter four times a year.  The newsletter will also be available on-line to save paper.

During the coming year we will be working on building a working board, and board development. The membership will be working with the board to develop a long-term and short-term strategy for preserving and protecting the peak.  One short-term process we are involved with is the Siuslaw National Forest Volunteer program for Mary's Peak. We have a work day planned for Mary's Peak on May 30, 1998. We hope to meet with the City of Corvallis to learn more about the city's watershed on Mary's Peak.

If you would like to become a member of this organization the cost is $12 a year.
